Jerrod Amir Shakir is a Grassroots Organizer with Uhcan Ohio. He was born and raised in the Buckeye – Shaker neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. He’s an activist for reparatory justice and a mental health advocate. He has worked as a digital organizer and social media marketer for the Freedom BLOC. A digital archivist for Cleveland Votes.
Jerrod was A Voice Your Vote team member for New Voices For Reproductive Justice and has worked doing civic engagement for NAACP Cleveland.

A relational organizer, at heart, and budding facilitator, he has a passion for Black history and civil rights. A poet , artist and content creator, he loves to perform the art of spoken word and has an undefeated battle rap record.
