Community Meetings on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)

Community Meetings on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)

Change is coming to health care. You need to know what’s happening with your health care, and we want to hear about why health care is important to you.

That’s why we’re hosting community meetings across Ohio for anyone who has questions about what’s next for health care or who can share their experience with health care, good or bad. Our first meetings in January indicated a need to reach out to more communities.

If anyone you know has questions about what’s going to happen to health care, please share this information. Columbus Dispatch Article: Ohioans Fear Repeal of Affordable Care Act

An article published yesterday in the Columbus Dispatch focuses on four Ohioans who fear they will lose their health coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed.

Click here to read the article.

Josh Lapp told UHCAN Ohio his story and is one of the Ohioans interviewed for the article.  He is an entrepreneur who purchases insurance through the Health Care Marketplace. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, he was able to start his own business while still getting the health care he needs for a heart defect he’s had since birth. Without the Marketplace health insurance plans he and his business partners rely on, he says, “”We would all have to rethink what we were doing… Are we going to be entrepreneurs? … Or are we going to be forced out of that and having to go work for someone else?”

Read the article for more insight into what’s at stake if Ohioans lose access to health care coverage. Please call your members of Congress today and tell them not to repeal the Affordable Care Act without a BETTER replacement in place. Health care affects everyone.  Click here to find your Representative, and click here to contact Ohio’s Senators.  Call UHCAN Ohio for any help in contacting them or to tell your story – 614-456-0060.
