Yvonne is the N.E. Ohio Advocacy Coordinator in Cleveland, Ohio. She joined UHCAN Ohio in 2011. In this role, she oversees UHCAN Ohio advocacy work by building and maintaining relationships to keep consumers, community partners and organizations informed and engaged about policies related to healthcare reform in the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid Expansion efforts.
She was the RWJF Project Director for the Cleveland Clean Indoor Campaign, a policy initiative to help Cleveland become smoke free. Her skills in community organizing and outreach have been effective in successfully managing GOTV activities for schools, mental health, children’s services, public transportation, judicial and local candidates’ elections.
She was a member of the national staff of the United Church of Christ where she researched and prepared briefings for the Healthcare Justice and Witness Ministries.
Yvonne holds a Masters of Arts in Intercultural Communication from the University of Akron, and has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Kent State University. In 2015, Yvonne was selected to participate in the second cohort of the NIH Community Research Scholars Initiative with Case Western Reserve and Metro Health to advance a culture of research in local nonprofit organizations.
Yvonne enjoys travel and theatre.
